CONVENTION PARTICIPANTS

Participation is open to anyone working in the education sector in Tanzania. This includes any level from pre-schooling age to university level; private, public and international schools; specialist schools and educational support workers.

It is recommended that two people from any given organisation apply to attend to ensure there is a team of supported individuals working to implement change and improve practice within your organisation.

Places will be allocated based on merit, and to ensure the greatest breadth of involvement throughout the sector.

Due to the limited number of places, interested participants need to notify their DEO or notify the convention organisers. Participant lists will be finalised mid September 2021.

What participants can expect

  • The opportunity to nominate their preferred workshops to attend, and where possible, these preferences will be considered

  • Attendance at 5 interactive and participatory workshops, with visual and practical elements

  • Hearing a selection of education experts speak about education in Tanzania in the 21st century

  • Have an opportunity for questions and discussion with peers, and prominent education actors

  • Gaining a selection of educational resources that participants can take away and use immediately in the classroom

  • A convention booklet with all convention session notes and resources in either English or Swahili

  • The opportunity to participate in convention competitions and activities that encourage educational successes (with prizes)

  • The opportunity to participate in convention displays that showcase innovations or educational successes (with prizes)

  • Good food

  • Support in any ventures inspired by the convention by The Foundation For Tomorrow and associates as they are able

  • A certificate presented at the close of the convention that acknowledges involvement

Expectations of participants

As there are a limited number of places available at the convention, it is expected that successful participants will engage themselves fully in the convention.

This involves:

  • Attendance for the full two day convention

  • Arriving punctually for each day and for each workshop

  • Staying until the end of each day and each workshop

  • Joining in workshop activities as each person is able

  • Offering examples, suggestions, sharing experiences and asking questions

  • Participating in the monitoring and evaluation process both prior to and after the convention

Those who fully adhere to the above expectations will be able to take fully advantage of the opportunity offered by the convention and will receive the full amount available for attendance expenses for an individual participant.
