THE CONVENTION
Tanzanian educators are the best providers of ideas and resources best suited to Tanzanian classrooms. The convention is designed to provide many opportunities for participants to showcase ideas they have tried and resources they have developed – even those that haven’t really worked. Prizes will be offered for innovative ideas and resources shared with other participants.
DAILY PROGRAM
REGISTRATION AND WELCOME
8:30 AM
The is the arrival time for people to sign in, collect their convention package and listen to the opening welcome from TFFT and associates.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
9:00Â AM
Several respected educational professionals will speak to the group about their expertise in Tanzanian education and what is essential for a 21st century education.
MORNING TEA
10:00 AM
A substantial snack provided by MS TCDC. Competitions and displays will also run at this time.
WORKSHOP SESSIONS
10:30 AM; 11:45 AM & 2:00 PM (5th only)
Various interactive workshops run by Tanzanian educators for their peers on essential skills for teaching 21st century learners. Convention participants will be invited to select their workshop topics of preference to attend at theses times.
LUNCH
1:00 PM
A sit down meal provided by MS TCDC. Competitions and displays will also run at this time.
PANEL DISCUSSION
2:00 PM (6th only)
A panel of educational representatives will field questions asked by convention participants, and discuss different ways to manage real-life educational challenges and situations.
DAILY CLOSE AND EVALUATION
3:15Â PM (5th), 3:00 PM (6th)
This will be the final part of each day where people will be requested to give feedback on the convention and the individual workshops attended. Any announcements and presentations can take place.
EACH ATTENDEE RECEIVES...
FOOD AND DRINK
Lunch, tea, snacks and water are provided each day by the MS TCDC kitchen. Dietary requirements will be catered for, please indicate any on your application.
RESOURCE PACK
A convention booklet with all the notes and resources from the various workshops will be provided in your choice of English or Swahili. Essential stationery will also be provided upon registration.
ATTENDANCE EXPENSES
Travel to and from the convention can be reimbursed for participants who adhere to the convention expectations. There are also a limited number of places for remote participants, where accommodation is also provided.
CERTIFICATE
All participants and presenters will receive a certificate verifying their involvement in the convention and the contribution made.
COVID SAFETY
All participants and presenters will receive two masks and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. Covid-safe protocols will be followed throughout the convention.
